When will people realize that we are not really that different. There are no races, only one and that is the human race. The color of our skin is nothing more than a marker of individuality, just the same as the religion we practice, or the language which we speak. These things are just individualists among a species that is so a like. William Shakespeare once said, ‘If you prick us do we not bleed? If you tickle us do we not laugh? If you poison us do we not die? And if you wrong us shall we not revenge?’ So you see we are all capable of the same actions and feelings. I am not that different from a human from China, Russia, or Cuba for that matter. We are all humans beings that come from different places and backgrounds and have individualities. I find these individualities to be something of strength, something that makes the human species so brilliant and beautiful. These are not hindrances, or weaknesses. With that said, I am Stephón Gilder, human being, citizen of earth, Christian, and a born child of the United States of America who happens to be black.
