So last night after talking with my roommate I decided to join him in being a vegetarian. WHAT?!?! Yup it’s true. For years I’ve always said I was going to attempt it, but I never got around to it. I also have a strong belief that all life is sacred, however I’ve been using the excuse, that since I wasn’t not the killer of the animal it was okay to eat meat, to cover up my addiction to meat. I grew up eating meat and over time developed a strong addiction to its taste. My roommate has been vegetarian since we started college. I think things will be easier for us if we are both vegetarian, meaning we can help each other because I know it’s hard. Also to be clear I’m not doing this for religious purposes, peer pressure, or dietary reason…though dietary benefits will start to take place, I’m doing this for a strong more belief I have. My religion does not require me to be vegetarian. In fact in the Christian faith there is nothing for or against the consumption of meat. I just believe all life is sacred. So today is the start of my vegetarian journey. I would be interested in anyone’s thoughts and opinions, as well as advice or tips from vegetarians or even vegans.
