Well this year’s first Ben Davis theatre production is The Hunchback of Notre Dame. My best friend Benito Alejandro ‘Morning Thunder’ Hernandez is playing the lead role Quasimodo, and I am playing the supporting lead role, Dom Claude Frollo, the Archdeacon of Notre Dame and Quasimodo’s ‘protector.’ Both Benito and I are so happy to be back in theatre doing another production and the cast seems like a really great bunch of people, but both of us feel just a little weird playing these roles because in the play I treat him like dirt then in the end he kills me. We’re both like ‘ahhhh your my best friend this is weird.’ Even though it’s acting it just feels weird. I mean talk about pretending to be something your not. Neither of us would be mean to the other of kill the other, but then again it will be a good chance for us to gain some new acting techniques. The best part about our roles is we had to change how he kills me because in the script he runs toward me with an open hand and breaks my neck then I’m dead, but I am like a foot and a few inches taller than he is so that obviously wasn’t going to work soooo, now I am going to die with style, he is going to push me off the tower and I shall plummet to my death. I am really excited for this play.
In other new I am starting to fill out college applications and scholarship applications. It is very tedious work, and I am almost getting stress, yes I said almost. My school work is being to pile up. So school work on top of college stuff, there just aren’t enough hours in the day or enough days in the week. On the bright side I am like 7 weeks ahead in Biology so that is one less thing I have to worry about, and Friday is the theatre troupe cook-out, and I get to go to my school’s first home football game of the season, so I shall have time off to kick back and have fun. I am looking forward to this weekend.
Well that’s all for now citizens of the universe. I shall keep you updated on my marvelous adventures. Stay safe, and make wise choices. Goodnight.
